Grabbed one. Do I need it? No. I have a Vera Edge with only a few devices, but wanted the additional zigbee integration and have been curious about the Hubitat for a while :-)

Just a heads up, there's a thread on reddit about how Hubitat says use a "used" hub and that buying a used one is a violation of their terms of service. Some people have been able to get support to link the device to a new account but others have had issues. Not the most consumer-friendly policy to have.

NOT TRUE, boy now I see how fast false info gets spread. This is fake news, as the company clarified the issue.
And users in the community also stated they had bought used hubs without issue.

I was in your position last year, and did the same thing. After 2 weeks I ripped out smartthings, and moved everything to hubitat. The local execution is lightning fast, and no cloud outages, like ST has. Hubitat is very versatile solution with extremely wide device support, it even supports gen 1 Iris devices. The Hubitat community is the best, all the smartest devs left ST and now are on hubitat. The radios on hubitat are slightly weaker than ST but that is such a small trade-off for the increase in reliability and versatility. Plus it can be easily addressed with some repeaters.
Give it a shot, I'm fairly certain it will blow you away.

I was just about to grab one because I also use ST and am looking for an alternative. Was just about to pull the trigger and then learned I bought one back in Apr 19 but it has been collecting dust. Just haven't found the time for tinkering, but glad to know I got it for the same price through SD! Smilie

Lol. Fake news. Not fake news, it was in fact true that someone from Hubitat said that was their policy. Thanks for linking to the thread to their apology that their support person was mistaken and they apologized. "Fake news" would have been someone posting a fake email from support but that was not the case.

Yes fully corrected. the bottom line is I've never gotten anything but excellent support from the company and everyone in the community and that the company is extremely helpful. Outside of wyzecam I've never seen such a great support community and company.
for a very reasonable cost, I've got flood protection, home security and automation. I want to buy another hub but don't really need it.

Do they have a dedicated app for Hubitat yet? I know Hubitat proponents will argue that a HA properly setup to automate everything doesn't need the "band-aid" fix of an app but I disagree. There's nothing wrong with having MORE options to access and control your HA setup and I for one would rather have a hub that can do both: process scenes for automation properly AND provide access via browsers & a dedicated app.

I considered one of their hubs a while back to replace an aging VeraLite that still performs flawlessly with 50+ devices paired. I'm leaning towards pulling the trigger on a VeraPlus in the next couple of days and was just looking for the best price. I'd consider one of these Hubitat devices but they're not quite mature enough for my needs. While I agree that they've covered more ground in their limited time in existence that most others had to that point in the life but the maturity still just ins't quite there. Maybe in another 12-months or so they'll be a bigger player in the HA field but, for my needs anyway, they're just not quite there as of this moment in time.

Yes, they have an iOS and an android app now. Basic, but works great. Toying with replacing my home ST with a new Hubitat since my cabin Hubitat has been flawless.

Works locally , I love it ! No need to wait for each command acceptance like with Wink or ST ( in some devices ) .
While other servers are not involved , you can finally appreciate z-wave technology.
Very basic interface, but I believe in this project. Step by step....

I was looking at this too. I have one I recently pulled out of the box that I purchased in October 2018 and I really like it. Is there a big improvement or channel additions on this version? I have a ski condo that I've been considering getting a new unit for.
