This might be true for store bought or qsr smoothies, but if you're making your own it makes no sense. It's just the fruit and veg. And as for the difference between whole and blended, I've never seen that before. You might be thinking of juicing, which takes out all the fiber.

If people don't mind going the refurbished route, last year they had a few tremendous deals on the Vitamix website over the Thanksgiving weekend and the refurbished units come with a 5 year warranty. The 780 I received looked brand new (probably a never used return) and was purchased at $255.

This is definitely a great deal on a "new" Vitamix . . . just giving options for those in the market.

Best blender I have ever owned and it isn't close.

FYI the A3500 is also on sale, which is a step up from this but much more expensive and unnecessary for most people. I think the 5200 is what most people want in a reliable blender.

I have this blender and it's well worth the price considering it's the lowest ever. I use mine 3x per week and it doesn't miss a beat, I've been using this for three years now.

Any difference between this and the Costco E320?

Is this better than the one at Costco for 299? That one also includes the extra personal container.
