I can get Filet Mignon cheaper than this what is it with Beef jerkey that's so expensive? Too many truckers in the States ? I freaking love this stuff though
Because meat/steak is X% of water in filet mignon/meat in general.
Meat-> jerky = 3:1 weight.

"I'll take my chance guys! Crossing my fingers, I hope I don't get mold in mine hehe!"

Making profit selling moldy meat because people like this are willing to buy it.

You are getting dehydrated meat that is 30% of it's original weight so you must adjust your weight to cost ratio. Your Filet Migon is full of water!

Pepper is the best flavor. Out of stock. Sweet and spicy is the second best. Out of stock.

The others suck. In stock.

I also agreed that Peppered is the best flavor of all.

My theory is that they keep the price on the high side so people don't think they're eating mystery meat when in reality this stuff doesn't cost too much more to produce than potato chips.
It takes approx 4 pounds of beef to create 1 pound of beef jerky. Look up how much the cheapest cuts of beef costs at your local supernarket - it's usually at least $4 a pound. If you were to make 1 lb of jerky yourself, it'd cost you $16 for the beef alone.
