I started looking at the displays more since it seems like they cheap out on them more and more unnecessarily.

Anyone else annoyed about 10 gen nomenclature? In prev. Gens you had an idea of performance based on the number scheme.. with these? Ugh you need to go to a website and look it up..

I've given up on finding a laptop. Every time I look into one someone tells me what's wrong with it. I feel like I need to take a class.

Where are all the Walmart people as this seems to be the Walmart special and not the Costco special.

Class wont really save you. Just narrow it down on what you need the laptop for and what your budget is.

I don't think there is a perfect laptop if there is then it most likely out of my budget.

In my opinion, there were two good budget laptops right now, assuming you are OK with installing RAM (very easy).
1. Acer Aspire 5 15.6" laptop with Ryzen 3. This was $260 yesterday on Amazon, now up to $350, but I would wait and see as it may get discounted again (was also on sale on Prime day). You can buy a 4GB stick of RAM for <$20.
2. Motile 14" Ryzen 3 from Walmart for $250. You can buy an 8GB stick of RAM for <$30.

In either case, search for DDR4 memory for laptops (aka SODIMM or 260 pin). RAM speeds are not noticeably different, so get the cheapest (2400 or 2666).

Both machines have IPS screens. Acer is brighter but both ar good. Both after lightweight, though the Motile is superlight at 2.55lbs. If you have lots of photos/videos, you may fill up the small 128gb hard drive, so may need cloud storage or an external USB harddrive.

You can still go by numbers. It's split into two parts.
CPU: 1000<1005<1030<1035<1060<1065
GPU: G1<G4 (used to be called Iris)<G7 (Iris Plus)

So a 1035G1, 1035G4, and 1035G7 are all basically the same CPU, but the G1 has the worst video while the G7's is the best. And any 1035 is better than any 1005, but worse than 1065.
