Any particularly good Mini sales out there? Looks like Amazon and Best Buy both have the Mini Vox for $149.99, which is relatively good... anything better out there?

Tivo now plays ads before you watch your recordings while still charging $15 a month.

If you aren't already committed avoid getting into Tivo now.

True but if you "downgrade" to the older (and better) version of the software, you will not get the ads.

From what I understand not everybody can opt out – I thought it was only long-term lifetime subscribers.

they do not allow this. it's really my only gripe with Tivo.

No all in plan sale on the 6-tuner is a shame.

I haven't seen any. I've been waiting for a Mini deal but might just break down and do that one.

The OP says "Bolt OTA for Antenna only: $49.99 + Yearly Subscription fee OR $199.99 will All in one time payment for lifetime Tivo service."

However, the website says the Bolt OTA for Antenna is $199.99 + $199.99 for All In one-time payment.

So, instead of the OTA Bolt costing approximately $250 with lifetime, it costs approximately $400.

The Tivo Edge says $399.99 with All in lifetime, but when you add to cart it charges you another $549 for lifetime

Not true. They grant it based on your history. If you're new, it's unlikely you get to opt out.

And even if you CAN, the people that have done it had it revert every 2 weeks or so, requiring another call. If this becomes the new norm for TiVo, our last OTA unit is done. I'm not calling every two weeks to top getting unskippable commercials on a unit I bought TO SKIP COMMERCIALS. We sold everything else TiVo already.

The completely awful new cable-box-style version of the software will be mandatory by early next year. TiVo is a dumpster fire these days. And we were owners from day one in 1999.
