I've been waiting for this one. Thanks!

For those of you interested, there's a documentary called "Filmworker" on Netflix that covers the career of Leon Vitali. He was one of Kubrick's main assistants and played a huge role in achieving the look of these movies. Vitali was involved in this 4k remaster of 2001 and that's important because he's one of the last people alive who can accurately recount how Kubrick wanted this movie to appear.

that doesn't make sense because older people are most likely to like it. me, I don't see a point in staring at a ship for hours with no dialogue for most of the movie. If it were made in like 1200 BC then it would be amazing to me, but we're supposed to think this is amazing just because of tech from the 70s? (edit or 60s if it was indeed released in 1968. I was thinking it was early 70s).
