For this comparing with the OP 17" from last year at $999

OP 2018 vs Evoo 2019
I7-8750 vs i7-9750
32GB vs 16GB Ram
144hz vs 144hz w/THX
2TB HDD vs 1TB SSD
2666Ghz Ram vs ??
Small bezel vs ??
$999 vs $999

This is probably identical to the Eluktronics 17" Mech 17 that has lots of reviews and sells for $1399

When i7-9760 is $1000 all i5 laptops should be below $700.

This should be the same laptop chassis, it's the exact same chassis as last years overpowered 17" laptop, but with newer hardware. The Eluktronics Mech 17 is identical to this.

OK guys, I jumped on this deal and here is why.

First it has a mechanical keyboard, I always wanted that but very few laptops have that and most cost a lot more money with the mechanical keyboard. At the end of the day I will be typing a lot on forums and what not.

For the price and a GTX 2060, 16 gig ram, I7, for $999.

It also has 144HZ 1080p display which I want.

It is a very good deal to hold me over for another year or so.

I did get the 2 year plan because after 2 years If this bad boy breaks than I'm going to just buy another laptop at that point. Usually if it doesn't break in 2 years anyway it won't break in 3 years. Usually warranty is a waste of money, but considering this is unknown brand here why not.

what do you think is a better deal? your Overpowered 17 from last year which I remember it came with a free VR that you can return and get a discount and also the pickup discount
I think these two deals are pretty similar in value. If I didn't get the OP 17 last year, I will definitely get this one this year.

Is this actually an 8 core 9750h? I was considering the Lenovo y740 with the same processor however it shows as 6 cores. Both are supposedly 9th gen

It's a typo...makes me wonder what else is a typo.

I want to buy this, but my gut tells me it would be a big mistake. I have an Asus Rog Strix, which has great Asus software for managing the hardware, what will this one have? Will I have to hunt third party apps to do the equivalent or will I just be screwed?

Hunt down? You mean type for 2 seconds and hit download? Don't mean to be rude just surprises me how people on SD on a boutique laptop deal try to make insanely simple things seem like deal breakers. These laptops can be serviced by tons of BIOS and different vendors, where as a Asus or HP or Acer can only be serviced by one software or BIOS manufacturer.

Walmart has the easiest return process, you have nothing to lose if you buy it and don't like it.

Exactly, full refund by either visiting the store or sending it in with a label.
