I went through numerous fans to find one with a thermostat that I could trust. Bought a highly rated Lasko unit and it would heat to 76 when set to 72. Mailed back to Lasko at my expense and they sent it right back saying it was "normal."

Finally bought this one and it's great. Fan speeds up and slows down as necessary to heat the room. Yes, it's louder than units with no fan because...um, it has a fan. Those small box heaters have a tiny fan, this one can actually project the heat for a full room balance.

No, it can't cool a room because it's not an air conditioner. It is a decently powerful fan when you need it.

Hope that helps.

From Rakuten website:Standard and Promotional Points are now available to use 1 day after your order ships and have an expiration date of 1 year. You no longer have to wait 15 days for your points to mature and the expiration period has been extended. So to answer your question you have one year after your points are issued

Thanks for sharing repped!

Wanted one of these Dyson fans since they came out, finally got one not too long ago and was crestfallen at how cheaply it was made. Cheap plastic junk is now my opinion of Dyson products and I won't hesitate to let people know.

There is a reason there are so many places selling refurbished Dyson gear ... and that is because it is plastic junk. Buyer be aware.
Yeah, it is plastic. We're you expecting an all metal construction? Guess you never touched one that is on display everywhere?

There's nothing "cheaply made" about it.

Were these ever made of anything else other than plastic? All my Dyson vacs are plastic. Most all better fans these days are plastic....like the Vornado. What were expecting?

I don't care about it cooling down a whole space during a hot summer day. What distance, max, is it powerful enough to you off from when directed at you?

Make sure to avoid black one. While the other colored ones are made with smooth, glossy surface, the black one is made with this rubbery surface. It maybe more scratch resistant, but it's harder to clean the dust on it. It's also sticky at first.

Function wise thou, it's great heater/fan, if you have a small room.

Both heater and fans suck!!! Not worth the high price. I bought $40 Lasko heater from Costco and it's much better than this.
I would argue that they both blow.

I'm not a fan of Dyson usually, I find them overpriced, but we have one of these (received as a gift) and I would probably buy one if we didn't have one. They are great at heating our kitchen which has two skylights, a huge bay window the length of the kitchen, and a glass back door. This thing has done wonders for our heat bill this year.

Not a good price. we have purchased from dyson direct via ebay the am 09 for 160
hp 01 fpr 170 and recently the connected hp 02 for 230. am09 for over 150 is not worth it. Wait for hp01 to go on sale again.

I bought a refurbed HP01 Heater, Fan, Purifier for $161 total and I absolutely love it. I used to use an Amazon Basics heater that worked for heating my room, but it was also incredibly noisy and it would wake me up so there was no way to use it overnight. This one I feel safe leaving it on overnight because it's quiet and the thermostat shuts it off and keeps it at a set temperature. I love the purifier on mine as well, but it doesn't look like this model has one.

Also worth noting that my $35 Amazon Basics space heater that I used for a year was recalled because the safety shutoff could malfunction, so for something like a space heater, maybe buying top quality is worth it.

Is this too powerful for a smaller room? My work office is only about 120 sq ft. (12x10x8). It would probably go on top or below my desk.

Would this work with a Wemo plug? I ask because my air purifier doesn't have an always on button and therefore turning on the smart plug does not turn on the purifier and I want to be able to control this remotely.

just keep in mind this is not a dyson pure model so its basically a dyson fan and a heater in one without air filtration. we have the pure version of this at home and like other dyson products, its expensive but it is very well made works great!

I got mine for $160 from Newegg and it looks like brand new.

Not sure why these things are so expensive in the first place---they're not that great. A $40 tower fan/heater will do the same thing and is just as effective. The filtering is "OK", but doesn't seem to do much.
