Did a quick look about this model; doesn't seem to have a detachable design.

It helps to detach at least the screen when you park at a less-safe area, so it's less attractive to thieves

Yeah. They don't seem to make models with removable faceplates as much anymore. I guess the thinking is that cars have nicer radios today so there may not be as high of a demand for used car stereos. I park at a train station to commute to work so I could never use an aftermarket car stereo without a removable plate.

Wish I could buy this. Except it's a refurbished and the crutch field link is for a different model it appears ax100 vs. ax1000
