The other model is not 2 way, you won't know whether the car started or not. The range is also 800' vs 3000'.

Has anyone installed this on a hybrid vehicle? Unfortunately when I input my vehicle, there is nowhere to select hybrid.

Also, would this one would be an easier installation? I just need the remote start function, the lock/unlock function I'll use my OEM key.

Thanks OP! I'm gonna hold out for the one that includes drone mobile. When that comes around I'll talk myself out of it because it still costs half of what my car is probably worth.

They both include free installation. I'd go with the one in the OP unless $30 will break your budget.

Wasn't about price, more about features, as I stated, I just need the remote start function, the lock/unlock/trunk functions wouldn't be used on the aftermarket remote.

Yeah, I'd be fine with that since it will only be used at home in the mornings. My assumption was that one button remote start was only that, a remote start, no other functions included so simpler install, but reading reviews on that model seem to state it does have the other functions, you just have to click it a few more times for lock/unlock.

For the $30 two extra key fobs are worth having as spares. They also include a longer range than most OEM fobs. This one is 3000ft, obviously give or take. Usually you would get something like this and ditch the OEM fobs, but it all depends on the car. We have keyless entry on the one and still need the OEM fob to drive. As for the install, it's usually easier as a stand alone remote start unit. Should be able to lookup the install manual online if you were planning to self install or gift.

I was addressing the ease of installation, which I think is what you asked. Sorry if I misunderstood. If the question really is about installation and you have no desire to or can't take advantage of the free installation, you might look at the thread I mention below— they discuss DIY and how cheaply the hardware can be obtained from other sellers.

If money is of no object, and you will absolutely never take advantage of the 2x-3x range difference between the two, nor the two-way functionality of the included remote, the only benefit I can see with going with the cheaper one is maybe it has a smaller antenna or lacks one entirely. The 4905 says it comes with an antenna kit and the RS1B doesn't mention one that I saw. I will leave that one to the experts.

You can read more about the shorter range/cheaper one here:

next appointment available on Jan 14th...
I literally set an alert 2-3 hours ago so I'll just buy it now and figure out the appointment part later.
had the other model on my car 2 years ago and didn't have any issues

I was aware of the free installation, my question was regarding if one remote starter was more complex to install in terms of wiring/splicing/etc because I assumed the one button remote start only had one function.

Repped for the link.

Yeah, that single button also has free installation included, just was curious if it was simpler to install in terms of wiring.

Hmmm, I've been waiting for this deal to come up but didn't bother checking compatibility with my car. It shows it's not compatible. The viper deal also from BB shows that it is compatible with that system. Does anyone know why one would be and one wouldn't?

Well, I believe they are literally the same base unit (DC3), and I was under the impression that the t-harness minimizes the amount of wiring they have to do. I've never witnessed an installation or even looked at the work they've done for me: so I'd still ask your question in that other thread and quote Mickey. He'll know for sure.

Odd. In the original deal back in October, TTS knocked it down to $100.

I've had it installed in a 2014 and 2016 Lexus ES300H, and just scheduled an installation for a 2017 CT200H. No problems. I couldn't select the hybrid version either but everything was cool on the first two cars. I'm just buying it while I can get in line for an installation, I can always ask about it later and if there's a problem we're in the extended holiday return policy.
