I felt the same way when I got one, but realized it is about as big as any book you would pick up to read. Plus, you can change the font size so not the biggest issue. I think the size makes it lighter and easier to carry around too (and cheaper to buy).

My wife wanted this version but the paperwhite is so cheap now, I might have to accidentally get that one...

Have one and the battery life is horrible compared to the paperwhite

Same here however the screen is so much more crisp on the oasis and this one is cellular and no special offers that I had to take the trade in bait.

Trade in works for this, so $112.50. Had a 6th gen, so brought price after tax to <$100

anyone able to trade in an 8th gen regular kindle ereader? search is not showing the device at all and it's annoying me.

Edit: Just used the trade in page and they had all the devices listed and traded in through that. Remember to do the instant appraisal if you want to order right away. Seems like that option is not available to everyone however from the responses in the older post.

10 years later, ereader is still stupidly 7". That's too small. That doesn't save anyone's eyes.

And they have a stupidly large bezel why is it so difficult to remove this? Why aren't there any affordable writing tablets with e-ink.. I suspect price fixing how does a technology not come down in price after a freaking decade
Because there is no serious competition in the market. And they are selling this 10 year old technology pretty good. So no need to innovate

There is barely any difference in ebook market from what it was 10 years ago

Really wanted the current gen with warm light, but I waited too long and due to backorder it would take almost a month to receive. And looks like it is back to regular price today anyway. So I ordered this even though I don't really need the extra storage, 3g, or no special offers. Just hope the backlighting is a little more pleasant to read with compared to the 2015 Paperwhite I'm trading in.

And 32GB, rather than the usual 8GB. This is the high end 9th gen Oasis.
