How often do you need to reset it?
It's random. The last time I reset it was Wednesday. It stayed online for 26 days consecutively. Before that was 12 days of uninterrupted use.

How does this compare to nest video doorbell. Camera resolution is higher in eufy, but not sure if it can do night detection correctly. Also one device limitation posted above looks a bit inconvenience creating

No it does not. It has 4 gb emcc rom which can record clips for last 30 days under certain circumstances.

Can the video doorbell record 24x7?No, the doorbell doesn't support 24x7 recording for now. The 3s pre-buffer let you see the whole picture prior to the initial alerts

directly from faqs on their website

Most importantly how is the lag time. I have the same problem that many have with ring with my skybell that by the time somebody pushes the button it takes forever before the app opens and I can see who's at the door

I have a ring, and the recording always starts 3 seconds BEFORE any action and always lasts 1:28 or 1:29 (unless the action continues past that). I think it is actually always recording, but only saves the footage in which there is action. Otherwise, I'd have no other explanation of how there is always that 3 second delay between the start of the video and when the action enters the frame.

I do echo your comment about how long it takes to get the live stream up. If it is just someone ringing the doorbell and leaving, then usually I get the stream up by the time their backs are to the camera and they are halfway down my driveway. I'd say it takes about 10 seconds for the stream to go live if I'm home.
Did you install the Rapid Ring app? It allows me to bring up Ring within 2-3 seconds.

Install the Rapid Ring app, it is designed to rapidly open the Ring video stream so you can see who is at the door and answer the door.

It is a companion app to the regular Ring app, since the regular Ring app does so much more and can be a little bit slower to answer.

Also, part of this is dependent on what type of smartphone you have. If you have a budget phone, it may take a little longer because the CPU is slower.

What a mistake buying the Ring 2 on Prime Day for $99. I dont like paying monthly fees and the cloud connection is very slow. I can literally count to 25 while waiting for the spinner to stop and show who is at the door. If its a passing car then forget it.

The most ridiculous issue with Ring 2 doorbell is the initial delay in recording. If you look on peoples videos online, when a crazy person walks up to the door and rings the bell or something, the first 12 seconds of motion is not recorded (possibly to save battery) and so the videos people post look really dumb, its like they start halfway into the event, missing the important part of the person walking up to the door and showing his face
Don't forget the massive privacy concerns

I had the ring doorbell2 for 2 years and always had connection problems and videos not loading, I had enough and bought this doorbell eufy about 6 months ago and I love it! Not only it connects fast it is local with your own SD card storage with added upgradable to save even more video. This not only protects your privacy from big tech companies that circle your video devices through their cloud systems that can be viewed by them eufy is all local storage where only you will have access to your videos. Eufy is a great doorbell to get and better than any other doorbell on the market.

It concerns me that Eufy/Anker didn't comment on this thread to explain what's happening:

https://community.anker.com/t/do-...hark/71932

It looks like Eufy products may depend upon and send unknown data to servers in China.
