Have any experience with the app? The most recent reviews are horrid for it.

Yes, I use the app on occasion, and it worked ok for me. I mainly use Blue Iris and PC as my NVR.

I have 1 Reolink IP cam connected to Blue Iris and it works great. I also helped install a Reolink NVR for my bro in law's barbershop - for that system, we use the mobile and PC apps, and they work about as well as any proprietary camera app, which is to say not as well as BI, but well enough to be functional

Here is a guy using a two drive QNAP TS-253Be with these cameras and QVR Pro (QVR Pro comes free with the NAS)...

Says they get 14 days running 24hrs with two 4tb drives in RAID1.

OP's link shows a 2-pack for $67.19

Hi Chimp

As a general rule:
For best results you want to pair the Amcrest ( Dahua OEM ) NVR with other Dahua OEM cameras.
Same with the Reolink NVR - pair with Reolink cameras.

On ONVIF there are various profiles - so you need to check, as some ONVIF camera to ONVIF NVR pairing may give you the basic recording functionality but not motion detection.

Wished it was easier to figure this stuff out...

Thanks, that's really helpful. Is it possible to get a list of all the Dahua OEM cameras? I was also looking at some cameras from Nelly's Security (obviously a private label as well). Just really confused about what works and what doesn't Frown.

Hi Chimp101,..

It is not easy as many brands use multiple OEMs .. in general for deals you see here many of us try to help out and identify the camera's OEM as Dahua or Hikvision if we know.

Nelly's has a good reputation for customer service, though last i checked it did not seem like they are carrying Dahua OEM cameras.

Here's a nice dome camera which will work with that NVR ( note the NVRs from Amcrest may not handle the IVS features.. otherwise should be good once you sync IP info and user / password )

Naturally amcrest cameras will work with the NVR

The LaView saturn line is also Dahua OEM - so those should also work.

Thanks so much for the info. You provide really great help in all the POE camera and DVR threads. Appreciate it again!

I been using this app for 2 yrs. Now, at first it was great on apple devices only and i had android. But they fixed it a few months ago. Everything works well now. I have suggested these cameras to alot of homeowners. To connect you just scan the barcode on the dvr and put your password and thats pretty much it.

Note that i brought the whole system including the DVR, i dont know how they work to pair them with other services or dvr.
