police able to locate them if the won't able to tell police their location?
what, now they are not able to talk!!! lol

in an event they are not able to talk police can triangulate the location, or you can prerecord a message on the phone with address.

listen to yourself. i guess you have a echo in each room just to make sure you have everything covered . . . bathrooms, closets, front and backyard. power backup for all the spyware in the house inducing the modem, router and voip device. what happens if the modem or router needs to be rebooted.

old folks know how to use a flip phone, and you don't have to charge a flip phone all the time. you can even power it down until they have to use it. you can pick up a small size flip phone that would give them better coverage all over the house and outside and at a fraction of the cost with a much reliable service.
What elderly person carries a flip phone 24/7? If they can easily remember to have it in their pocket at all times then they do not need this kind of service. I have Google home minis all over my mom's home so in case she falls she can call out for help. No separate device needed.

This is much easier than getting my hands on some old cell phones and making sure they are kept charged.
easier? so you are going to install a speaker in each room, bathroom and hallway, outdoors too?

fyi flip phone standby mode is about 30 days. if you turn if off it's about 8-10 months . . .

so if the power is out and she falls how are you going to hear her plea ?

Have you ever had to use it? I recently got a friend Life Alert as she has fallen a few times at home. Wondering if this would be a good supplement.

You and me both. Argued with them to no avail over it.

Bought one from Amazon Warehouse. It died 3 months later. Called Amazon and was told it was out of warranty (30 days), but as a courtesy, they would sell me another at half price. My courtesy price was $4.50 more than this ... LOL

They should really cover their own device brand for 1 full year even if it's warehouse.

There are plenty of inexpensive VOIP lines available and my ooma is free since I'm grandfathered in.

I don't take calls on my home line, I occasionally dial out on it but mainly use it when I have to provide a phone number to credit card companies etc.

That way I don't have to give out my cell and hopefully minimize the garbage phone calls.
Ooma sucks just waiting for them to go out of business

Even my 75 year old mother no longer has her home phone line with the black dial phone and a 20 foot extension line. And she kept that until a few years ago.

I just don't see how this is useful in modern times.
To call 911 in case she falls down and cant get up or get to a phone.

Man I could have used this in 1999 before I cut the cord. Let me find my checkbook, oh wait I don't use that anymore as well.
