Heat—the nemesis of gaming performance—is no longer a concern, thanks to Legion Coldfront. Coldfront brings the latest features that a dual-channel thermal system can provide, including individual CPU and GPU cooling for cooler system temperatures, four thermal vents for improved airflow, dedicated heat syncs for cooler keyboard temperatures, and 70 individual fan blades per channel to reduce system noise. I have the 17 inch version of this laptop and I love it. No complaints. The fans are really quiet too compared to most laptops.

This or Alienware m15 for the same price? 32GB Ram but only 6GB 2060 GPU.

Even if they did that is a quick fix. SSD for about 80 bucks and 15 minutes of work and a spare USB drive (which costs about 5 bucks but everyone should have a Windows install USB anyways). I almost always do it anyways to remove bloatware.

Potentially it has a 256GB NVMe in it since it's the same part number as the one in their website that has it.. But we'll see. I purchased two

According to this, [dell.com] Dell has fixed the temp problem with new heat sink.

It's possible there's higher variance in build quality; reddit threads and recent 2019 reviews still pan the new version. It's enough to make me pick the Y740 if I had to choose.

Do you know if the Lenovo Y740 has all aluminum case like the m15?

Also I wonder about driver support, as I'd like to still run Win 7 since I have a huge bundle of software installed on it..

I may cancel my Alienware order and buy this instead.
