Pretty good deal, but Best Buy decided to require that "Secured by Masterpass" and "Safebaloney by AmEx" and it froze my transaction twice. I got to thinking about it while entering my info a third time and realized that I don't really need this that much and gave up. Nice job Best Buy! Nice job credit card companies! Maybe next time you can make sure this stuff works without a littany of bugs before subjecting the masses to it.

If you like the logitech stuff, fine. I've owned at least 20 different products by them. Must say though, recently they've gotten so bad over warranty issues I wouldn't be able to give them my business again.

The back lighting on one of their keyboards began malfunctioning and was still under warranty. Contacted them. You'd think they were doing an autopsy on a murder victim, not handling a warranty issue. First they wanted multiple videos of the malfunction. Okay, gave it to them. When they finally agree there's something wrong they send you an email demanding you make a video proving you've fully destroyed the keyboard... then they tell you to save the pieces in case they still feel there's some issue with providing a replacement. You want to see warranty craziness, attached is the email. By the way, in case you're wondering, had one warranty replacement with them about 10 yrs ago on an inexpensive mouse, that's it. If they don't want to stand behind their products, why should we?

EDIT: Didn't realize the attached email only shows on the forum thread. If you're looking for it, you can find it there.
Jesus, this is next-level. I remember calling them about my MX700 starting to go wonky in 2006 and they just sent me a new one without telling me to do anything. It kept me as a customer but I also haven't had to use warranty since.

You have to understand how generous they were with warranty issues back then. I bet people abused it and they were losing money.

Hey Richard, see post #29 on this thread. I think it pretty much addresses the concern you're stating. I do get your point, but there seems to be something different going on here. I did have to first prove to them, with video, that their product was in fact malfunctioning. Once they knew that, they really had no excuse for this. Bottom line, what they're really saying is they'll do anything they can to discourage you from asking them to honor their warranty, and to make you feel like a criminal for even asking. I proved their product failed. Even if they did experience some "abuse" at one time or another, they knew that wasn't the case in this instance and still busted chops over it.

I've been a console gamer my whole life, and just bought my first PC to venture. Wanted to get some suggestions from the community on what the best brands/models are for peripherals. Price isn't an issue though I like to budget whenever possible, price/performance ratio deals would be nice. Thank you
This year the peripheral landscape has changes a lot. If you asked me last year if razer was good I'd tell your they're overpriced but this year they created the two best gaming mice on the market. Razer Viper Ultimate and Razer Basilisk Ultimate. If your looking for a cheaper but good alternative, the Glorious Mode O/O- are great also.

As far as keyboards, I use the Ducky One 2 Mini SF. This keyboard made waves throughout the year. But keyboards really come down to the personal users needs.

The G602 also has a crappy double clicking issue after a couple years. Mine died just this past month due to excessive double clicking after 2 years. If you search for it online, it's a pretty popular problem, usually just after the 1 year warranty passes.

I switched over to the MX performance mouse instead. But it's double the price of the G602 so if you like it, just get 2 so you'll have a spare around.
I have the same issue with G300S (Omron switch, rated 10M clicks), and even the cheap Redragon M601 (TTC blue switch, rated 8M), mostly starting with the right-button inconsistently clicked from holding down. I've replaced those primary buttons with Kailh GM switch (rated 60M), so far so good. Otherwise these mice a nicely designed.

You just unsoldered the old switch and soldered the new one in? I might give that a shot now that the G602 I have now is currently a paperweight. Where did you get the Kailh switch?

Yup, just unsoldered (the solder sucker worked well, jammed a thin flat twizzer in there so that the switch is pushed out as soon as it's loose). I got the Kailh GM switches from eBay, about $1 each. Initially I was about to replace with another Omron switch, but many posts on Reddit suggested the Kailh instead. Not sure about longevity yet ...

Awesome thanks for the tip. I'll attempt this with my G602 since there's nothing better to do with it now.

Wow, WTF. Might as well tell you to jump off a building too. Very poor warranty service.

there are much simpler way to do it right. one example here. Get customer's credit card. send out the replacement, including a return label. Ask customer to return the defective part within x days. otherwise credit card will be charged.

As a mx518 lover, I don't like the feel of the G602 for some reason. It's a little too big and bulky. The left side buttons are not too useful because they're too clustered together for me to make use of them. Maybe I just haven't given it enough time. In comparison, I love my G303 and looking forward to trying the G203's I just got.
