How does this stack against the Helios 300 deals for black friday? Looks to have the same features as that one but with 17 inch screen.

For me it came down to looks. Legion looks far better than Helios, imo.

2060 is a mild upgrade to this, I wouldn't pass this up strictly for this reason

Got this a month ago at best buy for 1199. Great laptop no issues. Performance is top notch. She does get a bit warm on occasion.great value with that 1tb harddrive.

I saw a Gram at Costco yesterday. Ridiculously light. So much so it felt cheap. But then again my 3+ y/o Lenovo 15" is 6 lbs or so.

How does this compare to the Lenovo IdeaPad S740 [microsoft.com] for $1299.

Depends if you think a 14 percent increase is mild.

You need to decide on how much you want to carry.
This is over 6lbs, based on BB pages.

Yes, obviously the Gram is ridiculously light as others have said. But you aren't comparing apples to apples. One is a gaming laptop, the other is not. The Lenovo is MUCH more powerful is almost every regard - graphics, processing, twice the SSD, etc. Are you purchasing for gaming, or are you just purchasing to have a large screen laptop that you will use to just do regular tasks? The LG Gram isn't going to play games well at all. But it is ridiculously portable with it's weight, and has a great looking display. The Lenovo is for gaming. If you aren't playing games, go for the LG. If you are playing games, go for the Lenovo.

Do 17" laptops cool better than 15"? And is the bigger screen worth the extra weight? I'll be transporting it every week or so.
