After being very disappointed in the DeWalt DWS780's slop and inaccuracy, I'm going to have to check this one out. Yeah, it's a little more money, but if it makes accurate and repeatable cuts I will actually use it, while the DeWalt just sits in a corner collecting dust.

I have been trying to get this for 8 months now, since I found out about Festool Recon. Each time they run out of stock in minutes after they send the email. I actually unsubscribed because of that. Finally grabbed one today. What a steal!

!2" saws aren't usually known for their accuracy but i've not heard that complaint all that often about the 780. You could just get a Makita for a lot less, just sayin.

Honestly not sure how anyone can recommend this over the 36v (18x2) makita. Dust collection is more or less on par with the kapex, it can be had for $400 on sale, and best of all it's battery operated

Those are very nice but this would be a more appropriate comparison. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Makit.../302717166 Beautiful saw right there.

I can see why people want the Festool for the options, but based on the massive rumors of motor issues on this Festool specifically, I suggest HOLD but certainly take advantage of the remainder of the Recon sale as it is indeed awesome.

BTW The stuff I bought from them, they didn't charge tax, so check for your state. Also ask if they can double box.
