$78.85 down from $279.00.

Picked one up to put away for next year. Not many reviews I could find. But solid deal for the price! Happy deal hunting. Peace

Furnace exhaust with its CO2 goes out the chimney. Cannot compare with this. This will use up the oxygen. If you are really serious you can rig a CO sensor to shut off the gas but you are risking your family's life.

Thanks for the post, but 2 pieces? Have to pass.
I saw the two pieces too. But figured would be good to use as a side table for drinks around the fire. Especially for $78 and 50k BTUs.

PIcked one up as well. I was thinking of converting my standard wood burning fire pit into a propane one but price for all parts would be more than this fire pit. Good price!

In the market for one of these, and this seems like a great price, but I'm also on the fence with it being two pieces. But I doubt there's many alternatives at this price point.

Yeah, definitely avoid two piece units.

Having that long hose exposed is just asking for trouble. The only way to route it where it wouldn't be an eyesore/safety hazard is if you have a split in your patio concrete or can drop it between deck boards.

The fact that it's open on all sides just looks weird.

All of this might explain why it's being heavily discounted. The demand might not be there because of some of the points you outlined. Either way, it's a good price if you can make the two pieces work.

Thanks OP, grabbed one - my sis was wanting one of these for her new deck. Granted, BHG isn't the best brand for longevity, but at this price point it's hard to pass.

LOL - exactly! My sis lived in Japan for a number of years, this is what it made me think of too.
