This is a very fast and stable router, with good wireless range. On the downside, the Netgear web UI doesn't expose as many advanced features as some competitors such as Asus, so some advanced features require Linux knowledge.

It right on the router page!
Ah I see it. The 20% off banner only pops up on the desktop version, not mobile version. Really frustrating that nobody in the store knew what I was talking about.

Anyone else having issues updating the firmware out of the box? I planned to go right to Voxel, but both his and the latest official firmwares are showing up as invalid when I try to upload them, plus they timeout when I use TFTP. Do R7800 firmwares need to be installed incrementally?

I was able to update to current version by logging in from laptop to www.routerlogin.net and choosing to update to latest.

Thanks, I figured it out. I had to explicitly allow TFTP in Windows Firewall in order to push the firmware to the router via command line
