I've been tracking this one. Not a huge discount, but it is the lowest Amazon price since around this time last year, according to CCC.

Widely regarded as the one of the best home theater projectors under $1k.

Best Buy also has it for $599. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/benq...Id=6192000

I don't understand why the same, now over a year old model of 1080P projector is selling at the same price as last year. In this class/price range of projectors the three more popular choices is this Ben Q HT2050A, the Optoma HD27HDR and the Epson 2150 and all three are selling for the same price as last year. The Epson current sale price of $599 is $100 less then last years sale price of $699. Unless it is the tariff I would have thought these older projectors would have been in the sub $500 range at least when they are on sale.

Refurbs have been sub $500. (BenQ raised the price of the 3550 due to the tariff. On sale I think it's back to normal price.

And with no new real competition for a quality budget 1080 pj, why would they drop prices?

I think this class of projectors was aggressively priced to begin with. They're not making high margins on them, so there is not a lot of room to go down on price.

I've got this model going on three months now. Great bang for your buck here. Brightness is pretty good when I'm running the lights in my home theater but when the lights go out this guy really shines. I get a lot of people commenting on how good the picture is. People are surprised it's only 1080, and I have it projecting onto a 110" screen just 12 feet away.

The Active 3D is also extremely impressive as long as you don't mind that. Monsters, Inc. really jumps off the screen for instance. Looking forward to more 3D movies on this!

We are very happy we chose this model.

Waiting on the short throw model of this - TH2150ST

Also, this model is $649 on Benq Website and no tax, wouldn't that be cheaper?

Adorama also has this for $649. no tax

This is exactly the same as my experience. Couldn't have stated it better. Very happy. Fan of the USB power port as well so you can run a streaming stick without another cord hanging down.

It's a fine budget PJ but I paid $408 for a BenQ direct refurb that had 0 hours on the bulb over 2 years ago. I'm actually looking to upgrade this season but it's been a majestic dud pricing-wise. Could be the tariffs, could be the technology just isn't ready for 4k PJs, but I don't think I've ever had a CE product increase in value over several years.

My 1 year old refurb 2050a started making popping sounds yesterday.... Not Sure exactly what that means, but the picture is unaffected by the popping. Now I'm scared to leave it plugged in.

This three projector review / shoot out that includes both the Epson 2150 and the BenQ 2050A may be of interest: https://www.projectorcentral.com/...Darbee.htm

Has me considering selling mine for $500. Prob only has 50-60 hours on it. Nice to see it retain value!
