This is the same as the Harmony Elite except it doesn't include the hub. You can connect it to a hub and then you have an Elite.

What a blatant paid comment. I have used harmony for almost a decade. It's the best available, but to call it easy to set up is laughable. The app is a complete and utter embarrassment and easily the most counterintuitive to piece of tech I've ever used. It's very customizable, and once it's working right you don't need to fuss with the app, but it's truly horrendous. Just go look at the reviews on the play store or app store.

Sounds like your IR transmitters are not positioned optimally. I have had four of these w/ hubs and other than the touchscreen being laggy, I've never had any issues with commands not working properly, even through wood cabinets.

Can you do activity sleep timers with this remote? Vs only via the app with the basic harmony hub?

edit - looks like yes. https://support.myharmony.com/en-...leep-timer

Question for anyone who knows: I understand that the 950 is IR (meaning independent of the hub, it works as a "point at the devices to turn them on" remote) but that, when combined with the hub, you then have the capability to ALSO control devices behind closed cabinet doors, etc.

Would someone mind confirming? I've got a situation where it would be helpful if it could do both. I have a hub and want to get a new cabinet with doors, but I can't rely on a blaster outside the cabinet to send a signal to the TV - my 2-year old will find it anywhere I place it - so I'm going to need the remote to also work by pointing it at the TV in addition to sending the signals to the hub.

Have the hub with this and not really thrilled about it. It's laggy most of the time. Sometimes it will change to right channels, sometimes it doesn't. Example if you click on your favorite channel let say "305" it will turn to 30 or 35. Takes 3-4 times before it finally changes to 305. Sometimes if I am rewinding and click on the play button, literally have to press it 4-6 times before it registers.

Yes you can specify whether to use IR or RF to control. The RF will communicate with the hub which has a built-in IR blaster so you can control components behind doors/cabinets.

Hub also has included wired IR blasters. You can connect one of the them to the hub and place the IR blaster outside the cabinet door.

Personally prefer the simpler version that is included with the hub. I've owned older Harmony remotes with programmable LCD screens. They have a tendency to go bad, are fragile, and the remotes require a lot more charging.

Had it for about 2 months now and not sure how I feel about it. I kind of don't like having numbers not on the remote itself. Also it is a little buggy but manageable. I do like how you can put certain channels that you like on the actual touch screen of the remote itself

I have the Elite (which I believe is just this controller + the hub + IR blasters). The IR blasters allow it to work perfectly with all the devices inside my cabinet, some of which are hidden behind wood paneling.

I promise nothing, of course, but I'm fairly confident that this will work out for you.

Honestly this is a great remote but I dont think you get much more from their cheaper versions. I have 2 of the logitech harmony 665 for my bedroom and front room and love it so much I bought an extra to keep in a drawer for just incase. Plus they're only $40. I dont think you can go wrong with it. I'm not into paying extra for a touch screen when for a third the price you still get all the features that are necessary.

Play around with the device delay in the advanced settings and the position of the IR blasters.
