Faux 4k, but you won't be able to tell the difference.

It's true 4k at the screen, but not native 4k panels.

I'd say Faux 4K. I have this projector and it works great, but my theater room is pitch black. If you're using this I'm a room with a lot of light I honestly wouldn't even get it

Ignorant comment, new to projectors. New house has an old Panasonic, which is good at 1080p, but looking to upgrade. True 4k that much different?

I'm gonna wait till Monday. I think this is quickly becoming the standard price. Been keeping an eye on the uhd50, as an interim projector till they start working out all the kinks. This projector works out some of those kinks and sound like it's worth the $300 premium, but I'll cross my fingers for tomorrow.

It sure is. Especially with HDR capability. I've compared this model with my previous 1080p model and the quality upgrade you get is quite noticeable.

Depends on your distance and projection size. Most folks don't realize that they cant even tell the difference between 2k and 4k at normal sitting distances until they hit about an 85" TV. If you're over 100" projection, 4k makes a difference, but color and contrast are still roughly as important. I used to have the Panasonic 3lcd you probably have. It's a great one, but this will likely be an upgrade above 100".
