EDIT: Disregard - link was corrected. Deal is dead (or never existed). Price is $267.49 for either color kit and $157.49 (white) or $179.99 (black) for the bare tool before the $25 promotional discount.

Ah, different model. Thought that seemed too good to be true. You're definitely right about buying the kit vs. the bare tool -- the battery alone is nearly $50, or about $93 for the 2.0Ah battery + charger kit.

Awesome vacuum - using it for 3 years already. Get it if you have other Makita tools - 5Ah battery works much better on this one while 2Ah will be handy for smaller handheld tools

Dyson has powered brush head, this does not. This are nice, think slightly better than dust buster type vacs but not as good as Dyson or other stick vacs with powered brush heads

In my opinion, you can't really compare the two. This vacuum from Makita is a compact one, which is less than 19" in length. You won't be able to use it to vacuum the floor without bending your back A LOT.

I have makita tools but I will pass this deal. It's a good price if you only have bare tools and need 2ah battery and charger. But for 2 normal types owner either you need 2ah battery but don't need extra charger or you need extra charge and also larger battery like 5ah. You can get 2 5ah pack .from home depot under $100. And this vac is a brushed version.
