Not a deal, but all Tp-Link Kasa Camera buyer/owner might want to know. Bait and witch, you won't get Free Cloud Storage

check out this shock finding. when we bought the camera, we were told" Free Cloud Storage
Access up to 2-days of wide angle crystal clear video at no charge. Upgrade options available with Kasa Care subscription." now they secretly changed it to two year only without inform people. many of us will hit the limitation soon as ks120 is 2017 product. there is no a word mentioned of just two year limit when we bought the camera at all! i just got the screen shot of the site where i bought their product, sold directly by kasa on ebay. no words mentioned the changes. it is a bait and switch. I think people might form a class lawsuit on it.Mad I just bought another one a few days ago and found this NEWS yesterday. Mad Beware this tp-link bait and switch while your are shopping this holiday season.

That's someone's comment on amazon review. Do you have a better source that backs up your statement? Thank you!

It is true. I have KS120 and it is only doing 3 hour of recording now. I bought another one that currently shows 2 day recording so at some point it did get switched to 3 day. Scum Bags !!

I am telling you my story. just shared someone else comment as well. don't want more people fell into same problem. as I have two their cameras. Many people might have a lot already. Try to be nice. Please don't try to blame things on me. Just chat with kasa and here is what they said:"i really do apologize for the inconvenience here, yeah they just added this in all the kasa cameras for the free 2-year plan" "we do not have other solution for this because as per checking here the US KasaCare service has changed to 2-year limitation. "

Don't know what to do now. Maybe some wise people can give us an idea.

Dude where in my question I wasn't nice? And where
in question I blamed things on you?

This was my question:
"That's someone's comment on amazon review. Do you have better source that backs up your statement? Thank you!"

Anyways have a great holiday season!

No worries Smilie
I have kc200 and you got my attention. I immediately looked at kasa smart website and they don't mention the free option anymore. They only mention about premium and plus plans. You must be right I bet they are hiding something.

i have KC100, and just got kc120, which is 1 year older model. i just went back to the site where i bought kc120 and took the screen shot as it is still said " "FEATURES
Free Cloud Storage
Access up to 2-days of wide angle crystal clear video at no charge. Upgrade options available with Kasa Care subscription." as their first key features. and it was sold
Direct from Kasa Smart, Official Store by TP-Link Kasa. So their ad for item said it is free and at least it is still say so when they sold the camera to me. there is no where mention 2 year limit. and I bought kc100 a few month ago, and it was not mentioned as well at that time.

Feel bad about this company now. If we need to pay service, ring or nest is much more better deal. at least we won't to fool by them.

I agree with you. Definitely, if I have to go with pay subscription, I'd go with Nest or Ring.

I got disappointed with TPLink when they canceled their smart doorbell. I bought one Nest hello from recent Costco deal and planning to install it once I figure out the transformer/chime configurations.

I love my TPLink switches. I wonder what will happen with my one KC200 that I bought last year.

I wish;
-Nest alarm and cameras are more affordable.
-Nest alarm has cell backup
-Nest/Ring has smart switches.
-Ring has smaller contact sensors.

i guess I will stop buying their products. It make no sense to buy them if we can only use them a year or two for just some $ cheaper. It cost us way more when we need to replace them. if they did not keep their promise, they might go out of business very soon. the customer are not dumb. Remember years ago when jcppney was doing no coupon and then coupon again with higher price tag over the old price tag. People find that out quickly. It used to be one of top store. But now no more good customer. the only people they can have are the people who just want free stuff.
