I bought this a a little over a week ago..got it delivered with no issues...came on a pallet too so no chance of damage....no tax and got 100 in ebay bucks!
I can 100% attest to that. Awesome picture quality. The Mandalorean was a treat to watch together over the holiday.

Total for 85 inch Q70R after EPP, tax and 15% cash back came to $2508.91. Great deal. The tax was only about 40% of what it would normally be. No idea what's up with that but I'm not complaining.
Hi Trufflepig - are you saying the $2508 is the price after taking into account the cashback, i.e. what you paid right now is higher than $2508? I see ebay selling the same 85 inch TV for ~$2500 before tax and wondering if that's worth pulling the trigger... thanks

Plasma tech has each individual pixel powered like OLED . If you are used to that I would go with an OLED or full array tv (tcl 8 series is actually almost par to oled) . Otherwise you may be disappointed. My 60" 1080p plasma still looks better than many 4K TVs with hdr. Also you can just use a fire stick Roku or Apple TV to get smart features . With that said I have 2 oleds 1 plasma and 3 other 4K TVs to compare to . I'm very visually discerning and it's hard to watch lower end TVs now.
RTINGS puts viewing angle degradation worse than this TV!

From rak-u-ten web site: If you opt for a Big Fat Check, you will receive a check issued to the name and address in your Account Settings (or "Choose How to Get Paid" in the App). Payments can be sent to the PayPal account of your choice.

So they send you your cash back in payable form of check, PayPal or a Visa card. Not being applied in next visit, so essentially get paid to shop with them. They charge a commission on the sellers and split it with the buyers.
Is it possible to negotiate a lower price w the seller directly instead?

Is your CB posted? Placed my order last night but no CB showing up yet, although the visit was recorded...
Yeah I got an email from the site that rhymes with Crack-a-ton this morning saying that I have $422.xx cash back.

Why do slickd's count the CB as part of the "out the door" price when the CB isn't directly applied and is held up until your next visit and purchase?
Cash back is an actual check, not points that have to be spent at that site.

Yes, $2508 is after subtracting the cash back. The Ebay deal is not quite as good if you have to pay tax.

Well I was a bit hesitant to get this based on the rtings review that off-axis viewing suffers horribly. I even went so far as to measure the angles the TV would typically be watched in our house (32 deg.) and looked at the YouTube video. Ultimately I decided not to buy based solely on that video.

I got a chance to see a sister of this TV on display at BJs (60 version which supposedly has the same issue on top of no local dimming), and I was surprised that I did not see any of the effect seen in the YouTube video. According to rtings, this flaw is not something that can be corrected for in settings, so it's not like the display model was jacked up to mask it (typical of display settings), so next time this pops up I'll bite.

Bought the 82" Q70 from eBay but during the TV set up the reflection looked pretty bad and made me think if there is a screen protector on it. I find a little thin film in the top right side of the TV but that one seems to be glued.
I checked On YouTube unboxing and two of the videos show very clear and obvious screen protect that comes off.
Wonder if it is a used or repaired TV being sold as new from the eBay seller.
anyone else had any screen protector on their TV? Specifically the 82" ones

The freight company that delivers this - is it called SJM distributors out of Jupiter FL (might be regional)? Got a call from a freight company wanting to setup a delivery for a ~ 250 lb piece but all they could tell me is the above company. I am 99% sure that it's the TV.
