Looks like a pretty solid setup for a grand to me. I still have some old Advent speakers collecting dust in my storage room that cost a grand for 2 speakers. I refuse to part with them, some day.... some day.... I will have a man cave / big room space and I'm going to re-foam or replace the drivers. Some day.... I've been saying that for a decade I think...

I see no problem with a complete system with a sub for a grand. If I add up all the Polks I'm currently using it gets in that ballpark, but those were not a complete 1 time set... I acquired those over years.

And I agree, go somewhere and listen to Klipsch if you can... their whole "deal" is the bright horn tweeters. If you don't like super bright, might not be for you. Personally I like it.

Thumbs up

edit - aaaannnnd the Adorama site is down. Slickdeals effect in the house!

I have a moderately sized living room (25 x 12 ft). I often need to listen at low volume because of children sleeping just upstairs. Would this be a poor decision?

This set will definitely suppress any unwanted sounds coming from your "loving room" LMAO

This one is not as good as previous one. The previous one had same price with same speakers except R-12SWi wireless subwoofer instead of R-100SW

They deliver this in 3 days for me. Sub seems a little small but the deal was by far well worth the money. I think I will just sell the 100SW and get a second 125SW.

This or Infinity reference speakers from another thread?

Pros, Which one do you suggest? I have zero knowledge on home theater systems.
I'm planning to buy Yamaha TSR-7850 receiver at Costco (for $379) to pair with one of these systems.

As I said in an earlier post, I bought this a couple weeks ago and they are awesome speakers. Highly recommend them.

Folks,
I just bought a projector(BenQ benq ht2050a 1080p) for my basement. I have an old Onkyo tx-sr607 receiver. I don't mind getting a new receiver if required but wondering if TX-SR607 would work.
Thanks a bunch!!

THis is exactly what I'm contemplating. I already have the TSR-7850 and am just looking to upgrade the existing set of speakers I have. They're all mismatched (JBL front, Polk center, Klipsch rears and subwoofer) so I'd like to get something matching. The Infinity deal looked like a better option since I can buy only what I need. I plan on keeping the receiver and subwoofer, so this deal would have me buying more and selling some.

Unfortunately that AVR does not process object based soundtracks

BV999 If have never heard either brand and or model you might try to do that 1st because they have two different sounds and no one will be able to tell which you would prefer.
If you can't or don't want to do that look down below for more info.

So ebound since you have listened to Klipsch and JBL, those Infinity's(depending on which model you have) will sound similar but it's still best practice to listen for yourself.

I would ask you what is wrong with your "mismatched" set up that makes you want to change?

Depending what you have now, this might just be a lateral move. If it is an upgrade, IMO it's going to a very incremental one.

Another option, if you haven't considered it already. Going with one of the brands you have now(JBL,Polk,Klipsch) and build off there. Depending on what you have and which you like best will determine which one. IMO front three(LCR) are the important ones especially the center.

I would point out that the Infinity's are much less efficient than these so that AVR will have an easier time with this package but I am in no way saying it could not run the Infinity's because it can.
This package also has enabled object based modules built in so you will need a flat ceiling and between 8-12 ft in height. How they would sound to you will be completely up to you guys.

hope that helps.

I was just kidding earlierSmilie

A more useful comment:
Not to wake up the little ones, I suggest you to turn off the subwoofer and enable night mode of your receiver at night. Depending on the manufacturer of your receiver, this mode might be named Dynamic Range Control (pioneer), Dynamic comp (denon), night mode (marantz), etc.

Thanks @supermanrob!. What would be a good receiver which would go well with this set? I want to future proof little bit like 4k support if I upgrade my projector later.
