I've had my $20 Seiko 5 for years, and recently retired it for a smart band.

7s26 is a good movement for the price, but I wouldn't pay more than $30 for it. Kind of surprised they jazzed up the dial/hands and gave it a metal band. I guess you won't find a much better automatic with this aesthetic. However, should prob just spend $10 more on an Orient (also from Seiko, and also on Jomashop).

I'm willing to deal with +/- 30s a day with a $30 beater watch ($20 when I bought). For >$60, the watch better not gain/lose >10s a day. Orient watches are generally the same spec (jewels, bph) but much higher tolerance.

I love Seiko, and one day hope to own a Seiko Grand (more for the sentiment than utility), but these offerings aren't really worth it. I recognize that these prices are lower than market-value, but it doesn't mean they're valuable, especially in the watch world. Pretty niche audience who cares more about aesthetic than performance, but have not heard of the Orient line.

Any Orient watch you recommend? Most of the Orient watches I see are at least $100.

I usually rock a Hamilton automatic but I'm wearing a Seiko 5 auto with 7s26 move in Vietnam right now. Set when I landed and running 14 seconds slow over the course of 15 days. Great movement for the price.

Jomashop = Pass. They must pay slickdeals to have their stuff posted here.

I've ordered from them in the past (they always show up on slickdeals, even though their deals aren't good). They were a nightmare to deal with.

Wow a lot of useless responses on this thread. a) nearly impossible to find an automatic in the sub 100 dollar range b) Seiko Caliber 7S26 has been around since the mid 90s and has been used in many automatics its a very reliable movement

While not my taste in design this I believe is a good deal, and Jomashop is a legitimate seller.

I normally keep my mouth shut on these threads but could not bear the responses on this one.
