Roku Ultra Flashing a black screen

Hey all,

I bought a Roku Ultra on BF for my aging LG, let me start off by saying screw these people for not including an HDMI with this thing and charging an MSRP of $100.

During inital setup there was a flashing white screen. Once setup, I had it working 4k60hz in one port of my LG that says HDCP 2.2. Watching a movie is when the black screen started flashing.

I attempted trouble shooting by testing other hdmi inputs, other devices in that hdmi input, and finally an xbox 1 x hdmi input with the Roku in the hdcp 2.2 port; however still flashing. Whenever and whatever setup I give it to attempt 4k60hz initiates the black screen flashing in menus and apps.

Has anyone had this issue? From what I see, there was a recent update where people have had this happening. A few suggestions into buying certified hdmi cables... however before I keep buying shit to attempt to solve this, I'd like to know it is the problem and the best solution

I bought it from amazon cause I never use VUDU and no need for that button, Roku support is non-responsive. Going to try on twitter

So 1 less button is worth $50?

Support is probably overwhelmed, honestly I would return it to amazon for a replacement or refund. If they require you to send it back they won't pay return shipping, and will only ship one to you once they receive your old one. I recently had to go through an RMA process with them.

I bought it from amazon for same price ~$49 with preference to the button, holding out now for support to see how that goes, otherwise I'll return it, not really worth the headache and really don't need it. I reached out on twitter and they responded a lot sooner.

Damn issue for over 2 years now? Hopefully it is select units
