Hmmm, this is one of those items where reviews are very mixed. Some report hinges, wheels, and handles breaking while others are saying it's the best cooler in the world. LOL.

Ordered but cancelled after reading the multiple reviews of weak handle and hinges, and the lid not staying open. Any owners here have these similar issues?
I have owned one w/o wheels for years and the problem is metal screws and plastic hinges. I haven't ever seen plastic and metal bond together well. It pops off and I have to screw it back in. I think the lid isn't attached right now lol. Maybe if they are glued in...

My handle works good. I replaced my hinge with a metal one for $10 and works awesome.

It would be nice if Coleman installed those in the first place and didn't cheap out with the plastic hinges.

Thanks for the link. Adds $11.39 to the price of the cooler, but obviously worth it. I'm sure it will come in handy for people here.

Put me in the category of best in the world. This is the best cooler I've ever owned.

Wheels, handle, hinges no problem for you? All I want is wheels and handle not break off, just short distance from garage door to kitchen heh.

How does this compare with a Yeti cooler besides the fact that you can buy ten of these for the price of one Yeti?

I have this cooler for about 5 years now. I've taken it everywhere, camping, fishing, hiking, used at parties, borrowed by friends and this thing just won't break. Right now it's sitting in the garage just waiting to be used. Lids, handles, wheels, everything is still intact and no signs of breaking. I washed it with soap and used a scrubber and it looks new again. Lid still closes tight like it was new and keeps everything cool inside.

Thank god. Don't want a drain that leaks.
I think the idea is that the drain empties when you open it but doesn't leak out when you don't have the drain open. You don't want the drain leaking and filling your vehicle/house/etc. with water when you have it closed.

I won't get a cooler without wheels, especially that big.

I bought this at full price $50 and love it. Looks cooler than a basic cooler and does a good job at keeping ice. $32 is an excellent deal.

Edit: and no wheels is no big deal, but I'm a bigger guy. 6'2"... I have no issues moving it even fully loaded with beers, granted I'm not moving it long distances ... Just kitchen to car, car to pool type stuff

But bro. This isn't a yeti. I need my stuff cold for weeks and not a paltry five days! Plus I'm going to lose out on my camp credibility

Yes I still have one, probably 7 years now and only this year the handle broke and that's why I will buy another. The top doesnt close all the way but still keeping ice for couple of days.

I've had this cooler for years. Lots of camping trips, picnics, etc. later, and we still love it. After a few years, we replaced the hinges with the metal ones as well. For the price and very minor inconvenience of replacing the hinges after awhile, and unless you're trying to keep ice in the desert, most people should be well served by this cooler.
