Alright, I went for this one. Seems to have great reviews for its price point.

This is the first real Cyber Monday deal I have seen on a projector. Plus this is the 727 model that is a bit more suited for a home theater and never drops below $1000. I have been waiting for a under $500 deal on a 1080P but it doesn't look like that is going to happen and this is truly a sale at only $899 plus it is 4K. If the throw works with my current mounting position and screen I am going to go to Best Buy and have them match the price. Thanks!

This is a great deal but I am going to pass, it uses the .47 chip that produces the gray border. Also, there is no 3D and 56ms response time. Still a great projector for non gamers and people that have more then a 3" border around their screen.

There was a deal on the UHD50 a few days ago from Buydig, $949, came with a mount, extra 2 year warranty, and no tax depending on your state. Mine just arrived today, significant upgrade from my BenQ 1080p I've had for 5 years. Very happy so far but I'd hold out for a lower price.

I would buy the one from Amazon since adding a 3-year warranty is only $58, and if you're using Amazon credit card, you wound get 5% credit or about $49 back. Having said that, I am totally happy with the Optoma HD27e 1080p I just got, so I can wait.

How about this Optoma HD27e 1080p for $400?

That is a good deal on a good projector. For me it has the same issue of the gray light border as all of the projectors that use the .47 chip and my screen only has 3" of black felt around the border, so it would light up my wall about an inch all around my screen. If you go up to the HD27HDR it uses the .65 chip that does not have this issue. The HD27HDR is on sale at the moment for $579 but just the other day it was $518, $562, $579, $649 all within about a twelve hour window. The next $518 or lower I might pick it up. I really want to get it from Best Buy to help keep our local store in business but Amazon has better prices and changes them before I can get into Best Buy to get a price match.

20% 1 star ratings for lamp failure within the first few months of use. Sounds dicey.

wouldn't the PX747-4k be a better value? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B079MQD...B0789BY9JV
3500 lumin vs 2200 and everything else looks to be the same.

I almost bought it but after doing some extensive research, I figured out that px747 is not a great home theatre projector and it's better to invest in a high end 1080p projector rather than buying this..just my 2 cents

Its great for non competitive games.
The Evil Within 2 freaked me out on a 135" screen.

Has Anyone known sent in their projector for a firmware update?
I've head that it can speed up the slow UI a little.
