DEAD - Moto One Active FREE / $0.00 @BBY on ATT - YMMV (will need new line or add a line, so credit pull but can cancel contract right away )

1)Search for Unlocked Phones on Bestbuy

2)Choose Moto One Action, should be $199.99 and Add to Cart - ***MAKE SURE THE STORE HAS IT IN STOCK****

3)At&t should have blank on pricing all other carriers should be $199.99 or $149.99 sprint

4)Set up a new account or add a line - chose shipping option or local pickup ****MAKE SURE THE STORE HAS IT IN STOCK****

ALTERNATIVE if BBY is giving you a hardtime

5)just ask BBY to set up a new line while you are at the store OR do it yourself at At&t wireless online - just pick a plan any cheapo plan...it doesn't matter because you will cancel it in any case.

6)Repeat steps 1,2,3 but choose ADD A LINE to the account you made; this time it should allow you to checkout all the way till the end at $0.00 charged ***MAKE SURE THE STORE HAS IT IN STOCK****

7)pick up phone - it should cost you $0.00, activation fee was FREE

8)you should be able to do this multiple times - I think at&t allows upto 10 lines.

9)call 611 or the att 1800 number and cancel the account - it should be $0 owed.

Enjoy your brand new UNLOCKED phone for FREE!!!

the phone is factory unlocked and confirmed to work with Verizon, T-Mobile, at&t and other international nano SIM.

NOTE - You can choose to get it shipped instead of store pickup, I assumed it would mean I might have to pay for prorated charges for the days it took to get it shipped instead of $0.00 with cancelling right after store pickup, also was worried att or BBY would fix the pricing glitch.

DISCLAIMER: I don't condone this, YMMV, there's obviously a hit on your credit score, requesting service with no intention of continuing, while at&t will let you cancel under buyers remorse might be gray

I didn't see a payment/line of service agreement? I am more familiar with Verizon who makes you sign a finance agreement or sign a 24 month agreement. With AT&T I did not see any of this.

Did you cancel service yet?

You normally are given an option to pay the device in full. It's $0.00 for this device.

I cancelled within 24 hours

"Pricing/Taxes/No Proration: Prices do not include taxes, directory assistance, roaming, Universal Service Fees, and other surcharges. Final month's charges are not prorated. "https://www.att.com/legal/terms.w...CalcMyBill

So no matter what, we will get charged the first (aka final) months bill?

You added a line to your existing account or created a new account? Also can you cancel online or did you call on to cancel?

I made a new line at BBY then I added a few lines to that and got the phones.
I got back home and cancelled all the lines on the 1800 number.

Interesting never seen a freebie on att without bill credits. I have an existing family shared plan. May try to add a line and grab a free phone. Doesn't look like you have to go into a BBY store either...should be able to do everything online and have it shipped.
