I had to replace the SD card once due to heat, not a failure of the camera. I'm getting ready to replace it with a dual camera one, but this camera has served me well.
A few times I have pressed the red button that prevents a recording from being overwritten, thinking someone would have an accident soon, but it didn't happen.
The only interesting videos I have taken with it were baby foxes playing in the middle of the road on my way to work.
Buy both, return both. What do you have to lose? LOL compare, see how you like it. I returned 2 capacitor models. They are nicely built, i tested in extreme heat on a hottest nj summer day about 4 hours running off of power bank. No problems. Sensor is only 2.1mp, which gives 1080p stills and video, but it looks like 720i logitech dashcam from early '00s. Absolutely shit in any light conditions. I really wanted to like it but very low bit rate 15@30fps and 20@60fps killed it. 1080/60 is just as useless as 30fps. My cheap lg phone does better than these cams. If for you something is better than nothing then go with either one or something similar in same range. It won't be any different. I need to be able to read plates. If only gopro made one into their action cam it would be perfect.
I have no issues with this cam with my iphone running iOS 13. No issues to connect device WiFi with iphone. Just saying...
