Pushed back to early next year due to motion detection issues and it negatively affecting how long the battery will last. They are working on a new implementation now.
I really hope that new implementation will allow more than PIR when there is a constant power source.

Has anyone heard any update on outdoor cameras? TBH, I just keep mine in front of windows inside looking out and it works okay, but I'd still prefer an outdoor rated one. Still, these cameras are awesome for what you get (yes, they can lag a little, but for free service I can't pick it apart.)
Same here, have my Wyze cam indoors looking through the window, patiently waiting for a Ring type, Wyze Door bell camera for my porch..

These cameras are an exceptional value, but they are seriously risky in terms of warranty and sending your data out of the country. No joke, go read the Amazon reviews specific to these cameras reassigning themselves mac addresses in order to bypass router port blocking to phone home, which is not in the US. I haven't spent time researching these on Shodan, but I think I will now.
Why do people like you continually post this drivel? Do the research. The cameras do NOT contact outside the country for over 2 years, and the reassign of MAC addresses at bootup has been publicly addressed and explained. There's really no concerns here and nothing sketchy going on. Do the research before you keep posting this garbage.

FYI the majority of my wyze cams are outdoors. I just bought silicone sleeves on Amazon, and they work great.

Also, there's open source firmware available if you're really skeptical.

Bridge is for the sensors. Sensors sends signal to bridge and bridge sends signal to cam to start recording.
So if you want to use with multiple cameras, you just attach the bridge to the camera you want to record, even if the door sensors aren't in sight of the camera??

Trying to imagine the setup and use case here.

Are you just using an extension cord from inside to outside and mounting it?

Haven't had good luck with wyze cam. Connecting to the camera with my phone works maybe 3 out of 10 times. Also don't get motion notifications any more. It used to work perfectly for the first couple of months. It doesn't matter how many times I've reset it.

This is really outdated information. It almost prevented me from getting anything Wyze, but then I found the Wyze forums and subreddit. They are exceptionally transparent and quick to respond to concerns.

I now have 4 cameras, a sense kit, and 2 plugs. It all costs the same as the shitty Chinese products all over Amazon. The main difference is a great app and solid community support. I'm sticking with their stuff going forward.

I mount them by windows, so I run a USB cable inside and to a power outlet. Running the cable along the grout I'd the brick makes it pretty indiscernible.
