Remove some plastic material that act like feet or something. If I still remember that was advised by some owners. I did that before my first use and never smelled a thing
The plastic smell goes away after break in process. Just leave the unit on for 30 minutes with no food and it wont smell at all. The smell is from the outside plastic and the vent out...not from the inside.

and if you think all stainless steel is cool....have fun cleaning it. Looks nice in pictures...horrible after using it. The sides will stain just like how the window gets cloudy.

Wow this one looks perfect for me! No Teflon coating and can replace my toaster oven!
Do people actually use this to make toast? Is this as good as the Breville 650XL?

Hmm, still haven't opened the boxes for a convection oven and an air fryer I recently bought. Wondering if I should return those and get this.

Was debating getting this one, but ended up going with Emeril Lagasse Power AirFryer 360 Plus for $68 which actually looks like a better product: https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/...3932124682

Lot of bad reviews on the Walmart site for that one.

Doesn't ship til next month. I'll stick with my convection oven and instant vortex, I guess. Not sure about these combo units anyways.

This looks ugly and probably won't be approve by my wife. And it's a convention oven, not exactly an air fryer

Emeril will put his name on all sorts of garbage. I have a 3 quart Emeril "copper core" pot and the copper on the bottom rubbed off after polishing it with barkeepers friend a few times. You're paying for his name and not for a quality product. Buyer beware.

I was thinking about an instant pot but since my toaster oven is probably at the end of its useful life (it had a grease fire in it and is also 20 years old or so) this might be a better choice. I still have a crock pot and a deep fryer but I'd like a toaster type device again and wouldn't mind trying out air frying or some of the other cooking functions in this (I have been known to make a pretty solid toaster oven steak or pork belly from time to time)
I got both an Instapot and an air fryer around the same time. I use my air fryer 10x more than my Instapot. They are completely different appliances and it depends on what you cook but I find more daily uses for an air fryer than I do for an Instapot.

How does the digital display and it's electronics keep from getting air fried?
That's my major concern since some of their standalone air fryer reviews had reports of the display crapping out around 6-8 months in. I guess I'll stick with my cuisinart that I grabbed from Best Buy. Even that had reports of the knobs breaking, but at least you can work out a replacement for those and still use the unit.

You say that in a gourmia thread... Not exactly the brand name known for high quality products.
