Can I bust the drive out of this thing and hook it up internally?

I wouldn't know why someone would need or use 4TB of portable storage, but if you're that guy, then this is a good deal

This isn't a portable drive, but there are definitely reasons that people might need a lot of external storage, either portable or not.

For a non-portable drive like this, it's great for use with non-PC devices that can use a lot of space, like media servers or video game consoles. Even for PCs, having an external drive has uses that an internal drive don't, like sharing it between multiple computers. Plus, it's just plain easier to add an external drive than an internal one, and with USB 3.0+, there's not really a speed difference between them.

For portable drives, they're really useful if you spend a lot of time mobile, and have a laptop with a relatively small SSD and no room to add another internal drive. You can use the portable drive for storing movies/tv shows that you want to watch, or use it for backups, etc.
