Note that the i7-10510U does not have the new generation of faster Iris graphics.

According to NotebookCheck:
The integrated graphics card however is still the same as in the previous generations. It should be still called Intel HD Graphics 620.

That's what it said for the Envy 13 I bought last week from Microsoft, but it charges fine thru the USB-C port.
And quite a few reviews mention that Envy 15 charges thru the USB-C port, so I am hoping this one would too.

Yep, no IRIS, just plain old Intel UHD.
Would've been great if HP offered reasonaly priced upgrades so users can actually customize the system to their liking, but nooo....
- $170 for adding another 8GB of RAM
- $120 to add NVIDIA® GeForce® MX250 4GB GDDR5
- $120 to upgrade to 512GB SSD

They usually ship well before the estimated date, but with this being the holiday season I guess it will depend on how busy the assembly line is.

I am not in a hurry, but I do hope it arrives before Christmas.

Saw that too, but it has a 8th gen i7 and noo Optane for $80 more (when I first posted about the deal).
For the $80, I can add an additional 8GB (~$30) and replace the 256GB SSD with 512GB or replace the 16GB Optane with a NVMe SSD (~$50-$60) - which I plan to do when I get the 20% CB from Chase.
So it made more sense to go with the OP deal.

That is a decent deal - depends on what you need it for.
- Smaller screen, but also smaller size & lighter wt = increased portability
- i5 is a bit slower than i7, but more than enough for most tasks. All my laptops had (and have) i5, this is my first i7.
- The build quality on the Envy is better (all aluminum shell) than the Pavilion. So Envy is a bit more durable.

Everything else looks similar. If you are happy with it, keep it. If you want a faster CPU or better build quality, then that's your call.
Go see some ENVY models at your local BB to get an idea, or checkout some of the Lenovo Flex deals posted today.

You are talking about DIY upgrade here, right? Configuring at the checkout and it comes up $170 for RAM and $120 for SSD upgrade..

If you want a better build AND faster notebook, this is a much better buy for $60 extra:
https://slickdeals.net/f/13679489-lenovo-flex-14-ryzen-7-3700u-2-in-1-8gb-ram-256-nvme-ssd-559-97

And even better deal at Costco for $10 less with 12GB RAM & 512GB HDD

Yes, DIY upgrade. HP's upgrade options are ridiculously over-priced.
- The ENVY x360 has two slots for RAM and comes with one 8-GB stick. So adding a 2nd stick is pretty simple.
- Swapping out the 256GB SSD with 512GB is also straight forward.
- OR, according to some, the Optane disk could be replaced with an NVMe SSD so you end up with two disks, though I am not certain about it.

The biggest hurdle is opening the back cover for any of these upgrades, luckily there are some detailed videos on Youtube.
