  1. Log into your AT&T account
  2. Go to chat and type Loyalty
  3. provide the requested information to chat bot
  4. Once you are connected with the agent simply state "I am wanting to see if I qualify for the iPhone XR 64 GB for $149 with a 2 year commitment"
  5. If you are an AARP member or have an employer FAN the upgrade fee should be waived.
  6. Optionally you can call AT&T and ask to speak to someone in the loyalty department and ask for the same deal but they do have high call volume for Christmas so you might be on hold for a bit.
  7. You need to be on a current Unlimited plan or switch to one of the unlimited plans to get this offer which will result in the $40 line access fee. If you are already on an unlimited plan then your plan will not change but you can verify that with the AT&T rep.

AT&T makes sense if you have more than 4 lines. I pay $105 + (6 lines x $20) and get $25 off AT&T TV with free HBO.
What plan is that, is data share or unlimited.

Just got 2 phones upgraded for $149.99 plus tax. Waived upgrade fee and free priority shipping.

They will do the 128 gig XRs for $199 if you need the storage.
AT&T always does overnight shipping. So their pitch to offer you "free priority shipping" is all for show.

The catch is that Line access charges go from $20 to $40 a month.
Your line access only increase from $20 to $40 if you are not on an unlimited plan. I've done this deal twice and my access fee did not increase because I was on an unlimited plan.

Hang up and try again with another rep. Make sure you say you want a two years contract. But more importantly, make sure you are an unlimited plan or your access line fee will increase.
Yeah, I'm not on an unlimited plan. Well that's frustrating.

these deals are pointless. You will pay 30 a month more than you would on an MVNO using the same towers and features.

They are not pointless. If you are on an unlimited plan and want to upgrade, this is one of the cheapest options to get something like an iPhone 11 for $250 plus tax.

I got my dad an iPhone 8 Plus for $150 plus tax last year with this deal. No deal even came close to this deal at the time or ever.

So my daughter needs an upgrade. She currently has an iPhone 7 Plus in good condition. Should I try this deal or would I get something better via the trade in route?

They still have 2-year commitments? I thought this was a thing of the past?

I did as well. This is the first time I've heard of them doing a 2yr contract in years, since they came out with that ATT Next plan back in '14

Yes agree, this means the monthly access charge in my case goes up another $25/month so dealbreaker for me to do a 2 yr commitment just to get the cheap upfront phone

Search for ATT loyalty for the latest thread on this...the loyalty offer has been going on for at least two years. Check your plan terms if there are additional fees for two year contracts.
