I use anything from a 2.0-5.0 battery and it seems to run 10+ hours. Never really had to pay attention

In for 2. Get your $25 rebate and resell one or gift. Sure hope the XL size is not too big!

This is the new model. It will have more heat zones and delete removable arms to make a vest. This must be a clearance sale. Great deal!

Wanting to get one for my dad. How much is a battery for this thing? And do I have to buy a charger too?

Makita-brand batteries are going to be more expensive than third-party. Smaller (both physically and in items of amp hours, e.g. 2.0Ah) batteries are going to cost less than and won't weigh as much as larger batteries but also won't last as long. Yes, you'll need a charger. If you search on Amazon or eBay for "Makita LXT battery" or similar, you should find lots of options. I'd budget $50 or so if you want to get a mid-size, third-party battery and charger. Makita brand will cost significantly more but probably won't be noticeably better for your purposes.

Hope this helps.

I don't need this on account of being in Georgia, but it seems like a good find!

Received mine last night and it's amazing -- and just in time, as highs here in MInnesota are in the single digits (lows in the double digits below zero) until Thursday. Fits me perfectly, comfortable as can be, thick enough that I could wear it alone in warmer temps but fits under my big parka-style coat for when it's really cold and I'm out moving snow. Thanks again to OP for posting this!
