If you are looking for a solid business class notebook computer, this is a good choice. I bought the gen 1 version 6 years ago and it is still running well and has had zero issues.

This is 1/2 what I paid 6 years ago for a much faster system.

Today only.

Great for business users. Maybe not for gamers and people who like to tweak and swap parts.

65% off then apply code BPCBFCMAC10 (there are others too)

https://store.hp.com/us/en/Config...ok-850-g5-

Select options as needed. I chose:

EliteBook 850 G5 with Intel® Core™ i7-8650U processor (1.9 GHz, up to 4.2 GHz with Turbo Boost, 8 MB Cache, 4 core) + AMD Radeon™ RX 540 (2 GB GDDR5 dedicated) (2FH29AV)
65 Watt Smart nPFC Right Angle for Fast Charge AC Adapter
Windows 10 Pro Operating System Recovery DVD
C5 1.0m Sticker Conventional Power Cord
Active SmartCard
AMT vPro Technology Enabled
Intel 8265 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (2x2) with Bluetooth 4.2 - 2 Antennas (vPro enabled)
3 Cell 56 WHr Long Life Battery
Integrated HD 720p IR TripleMic Webcam
15.6" diagonal FHD LED UWVA Anti-Glare for HD Webcam + IR slim (1920x1080) (220 Nits)

Site is so wonky. Get access denied all the time. What do you think about the 14" elitebook 840? Same as the 15 but only smaller. I may go for the 13.3 for better battery time.

Surprised more people aren't commenting/thumbing this up.

840 G5 should be great. I travel some and need the 15" screen when not docked with my 2 monitors. I don't know anything about the 13.3.

I don't think many people here are interested in a computer that is built to last several years. 2 years is probably a long time for most SD folks to keep a computer. Normally you can save a few bucks that way but maybe not in this case.

Also, if they had a consumer-grade HP computer more than 5 years ago, they would probably not consider an HP, even though the business-grade EliteBooks are entirely different and dramatically better on build quality and stability. I hear the consumer-grade PCs are much better now but still get nowhere near the same level of R&D and testing.

... which reminds me of why MAC lovers hate Windows PCs. They compare the $400 computer their parents bought them at Walmart to the $2000 MAC they bought with their student loan money and don't understand why anyone would by anything else. LMAO

I just checked and you can still get 63% off on the G5 notebooks (not the new G6). The discount was better when I posted this on 12/2 but it is still a great deal on business class computers.

No discount code needed for 63% off but there could be some out there to increase the discount.
