I would be happy too. This was the very first hardware wallet I ever bought, and at first I absolutely loved it, but as time went on it became clear that they didn't have an adequate dev team and they were VERY slow to roll out software updates and integrate compatibility with new coins. They also refused to release any public roadmap for future developments and made empty promises about future developments. I eventually gave up and bought a Ledger nano S which I can say is without a doubt a better tool simply because their dev team keeps everything up to date and they maintain themselves as a much more reputable company in my opinion. I do think the KeepKey is a better piece of hardware, but unfortunately there's much more to take into account than just the hardware itself. BUT, with all that being said, this is an absolute steal for this piece of hardware and even I couldn't keep myself from purchasing another KeepKey as a backup for just $5. If you are new to crypto or looking for a backup device, this deal simply cannot be beat. If you are looking for THE BEST hardware wallet, I would suggest looking into Ledgar or Trezor, but you will be paying significantly more. I would suggest anyone interested in this should take advantage of it without thinking twice, especially considering it is shipped for free within the U.S. Even if you want to get a better device in the long run, it never hurts to have a backup device.

Started with a ledger nano s...still have it and love it...this will be a "hot" wallet for me to use for purchasing while the ledger will be used for cold storage. So ledger will be my "savings" and this will be my "checking" I hope it ends up working out like that.

garbage wallet. Missing support for a lot of cryptos, and the software is crap. That said it's a decent deal for a backup wallet for $5.

This is basically how I've been using mine as well since purchasing a Ledger. I figure even if I already have a KeepKey it never hurts to have an extra in case I need to restore my wallet due to loss/theft/destruction or I could even give it to a friend who's just getting started in crypto.

What's the easiest way to use this as a backup? You can't just use the same passphrase as say the ledger nano s and have it bring up all the same accounts, right?

Actually, I think you can. Check this out [reddit.com] for instructions on how to recover your Ledger wallet on the KeepKey with your 24 word passphrase

Yes, that's the purpose of the recovery phrase, so you can recover your wallet on another device if your primary device is lost/stolen/destroyed. KeepKey by default uses a 12 word recovery phrase while Ledger uses a 24 word recovery phrase, but according to this post you can still enter a 24 word recovery phrase on the KeepKey. Please be aware, I have not tested this myself, so I make no guarantees that it will in fact work, but I do believe it should.
