Get the battery ones then. The 120V would not work in HK.

Sooo the only issue would be you won't be able to tell the lifespan left on this since they could send you something that's 5 years old.

Let's say I want to add a wired one... under a staircase (lot of computer equipment). Can I purchase a power cord, and strip down to the wires on said power cord, and properly wirenut it onto this Nest like I would have if it was in the ceiling?

Planning on having the electrician do it, just looking for direction in my plan.

Yes. Look at serial number. 4 numbers after AC mean week (2 digits) and year (2 digits) of production.
