Hi rzfrk

Repped. Good deal imho.

The cameras in the deal kit ( on Amazon ) are newer and better ( imho ) than the cameras in the lorex kit you've linked to. ( NVR appears same... double check model number )

The Amazon deal looks like this kit w/only 4 cameras ( the kit used to come up on lorex - however I am guessing it is OOS on the lorex site as I do not see it anymore )
https://www.lorextechnology.com/4...IP168i-1-p

The nice thing about this NVR is the 16 ports / channels and it's ability to accept Dahua OEM cameras if you're willing to sync IP, port, user / password and setup the substream info. ( documented in a lorex thread on ipcamtalk )

btw - many of the Lorex deals at Costco have lower tier models of NVRs ( just look at the back of the NVR and inspect the ports - higher tier models have alarm I/O ports )

Since you seem to be in the know...

Lorex has the 4KHDIP168Ni Reg. $3,149.99 down to $1,499.99 (Cyber Monday "Sale")
and the 4KHDIP168i Reg. $2,079.99 down to $1,499.99

I ran a comparison on their site and the $2,079.99 seems to have an extra 25ft of night vision range but everything else is the exact same? Am I missing something or is the Cyber Monday "Sale" just bloated MSRP?

Thanks in Advance!

Hi Avetisyanedgar01

Please see the Lorex deal thread Angel_Eater posted:
https://slickdeals.net/f/13534846-25-off-lorex-site-wide

The 2nd kit has newer model cameras, which iirc have the larger 1/1.8" sensors.
16-Channel 4K NVR and 8 Outdoor 4K (8MP) IP Fixed 30FPS Real-Time Format Nocturnal Cameras with Color Night Vision and Audio Recording
4KHDIP168i
https://www.lorextechnology.com/4...IP168i-1-p

Also DO NOT trust the MSRP nor the "Night Vision Range" - the vendors like to game us.

While doing comparisons also check out the Montavue thread

Man, I read the Lorax thread and all I can say is thanks for the headache! vomit

Just when I thought I somewhat narrowed it down, I realized the NVR and camera models vary between setups so they definitely make it hard to compare. Why can't they just make it easy to take my darn money already!

I'll keep reading but I just need a simple PoE setup to replace the Arlo Pro mounted behind my double pane windows which pretty much cancel out the infrared "motion" detection...

I feel the Slickdeals "best bang for the buck" effect is leading me down the rabbit hole and this is probably overkill but I can offload some of the cameras on eBay I guess... I feel I'm complicating this decision

lol indeed Avetisyanedgar01

There's a lot more to this than I first thought.

One option is to just buy a good varifocal security camera a small PoE switch and play with it a bit to get an idea of what you want.

Otherwise if you just want to jump in, I think any of the kits with the 1/1.8" sensor bullet cameras are good enough and a good value at the deals we've been discussing.

For some reason the amazon product page for OP reads: "...included 60-foot BNC/DC extension cables,..."

Isn't it a POE system?

Excellent catch ctbear.

The part number is: AS4KHDIP164I

AS - must be associated with Amazon Sales.. or Amazon S...

4K - see this as a part of a kits model number often at lorex's website
HD - high def
IP - Internet Protocal
16 - 16 port NVR
4 - 4 cameras

So definitely an IP POE kit based on the part number, as well as the pictured cameras and front of the NVR ( wished they also had a backside picture ),... so certainly imho a "typo" on the BNC cable part...

If you're new to security cameras check out the following notes:

1) Wiki notes in the original Costco Lorex deal thread ( kit is no longer available - they have a newer version now at Costco )

2) Wiki notes from last year's BF-cyberweek deals

Is that an outdated/wrong link? I don't see voice control and that was also confirmed by lorex support
