The seller on ebay has a 100% rating with over 11k reviews. This is the cheapest legit price I could find for this tv. I tried greentoe at this price and they countered with $1997, so even after tax, this deal is better.
Like always when comparing, depends on your viewing habits and where the TV is going to be. If you watch a lot of static logo channels, sports, news channels, or play games with a lot of static huds, get the Samsung. If its in a light controlled/easily controlled room and you vary your content a lot, OLED. OLED's can get very bright, but that also increases the risk of BI/uneven pixel wear if you have to crank the brightness.
If you feel comfortable with an OLED, get it. The picture quality is unmatched. Some of the really nice LED/QLED's like this have closed the gap a little. But the OLED's still stand by themselves.
Also, if you game, the C9 has GSYNC VRR capabilities, which is a game changer if you have a PC that can take advantage of it. The Q90 has Freesync capabilities, but supposedly it doesn't have GSYNC capabilities, even though it was supposed to have it. Both have HDMI 2.1, which will help with the new consoles next year.

Got the 65" q80 from greentoe last week for $1370 tax/ship included... with tax on top of this I think I'd rather go greentoe and have an authorized distributor.

Informative. Was looking to get the LG C9 earlier from the Google Store deal for the same price, but was on the fence so didn't pull the trigger. The tv would be mostly used for watching news and sports where there are constant colors in an area like the news logo and scoreboard so I guess this would be a better option. Are you a fan of the hub/hdmi connections being separate from the tv? Also, heard the price of these models would get lower in February near superbowl and where the new models would be introduced in January.

I have a Samsung 65" KS8000 which has the one connect, or whatever it's called box. But if I'm recalling correctly, Samsung has pulled some shady stunts of not updating certain models or certain one connect boxes in the past. I personally like it, cause I could care less about wire management and it's easy to get to all the ports.
I had a B7 OLED. But I game heavily and after leaving the Xbox One dashboard on the screen for 10-15 minutes, I got some small image retention. So paranoia set in. It was replaced with a TCL 6 Series (I know, I know lol) that I absolutely love. That'll get moved to the bedroom when HDMI 2.1 is more widespread, next year.
I can see the C9 getting to $1499 or $1599 again (I think it was at that price the other day) but I wouldn't bank on it getting much lower. Butttt, LG has opened or is going to open a few more plants for making OLED TV's. Which could help drive the prices down for their series 9 models when the 10 series releases next year.
For you though, I'd get the Samsung and wouldn't think twice.
