Thanks for posting. This is a good deal, not sure why it's not getting more traction.

General recommendation is the whole tomatoes, I think. Something about better preservation of flavor. Those are not on sale.

I never had these with basil added. Anyone have experience with these? A dozen 28oz cans is quite a commitment, even with it being a good price.

Never tried this but ordered one since it's a good price for organic. Can this be used directly as pasta sauce?

Muir Glen are just short of Cento for flavor. Very good canned tomato products. Normally around $3+ a can at groceries. We used to get various versions a couple of times a year for $1/can at 99only. Would stock up. Hasn't shown up for awhile. Worth considering for italian.

I add them to soups, stews, slow cooker dishes, etc. One of these, some red wine, little bit of stock, some seasoning...

You could with a few additions, rather plain otherwise.

The diced, fire roasted ones are on sale. I've had them in the past and they're pretty good. $12.04 for a 12 pack of 14.5 oz with 5 items S&S. https://smile.amazon.com/Muir-Glen-Canned-Tomatoes-Organic/dp/B000LKZ9IC/ref=pd_bxgy_325_2/132-40951... [amazon.com] Not as much food/$ as OP's, though. Still able to get a premium brand for generic price, though.
