After I say "Ok Google, Goodnight" the last thing it does is start my rain sounds.
I have a Lectro Fan next to my Lenovo Smart Clock and the looping of the Rain sounds kill me. The Lectro Fan is far superior. I would only use the Google Sounds if nothing else is available.

The Lectro Fan doesn't loop sounds, as far as I know (they're analog, or non-digital somehow), so there's no real chance of noticing a pattern and getting distracted by that, unlike apps. I bought one as I live in an apartment that can be a little nosy at times, and it has helped drown out background noise tremendously.

I have multiple Dohms and multiple LectroFans. We like the LectroFans much more. The Dohm is a real fan but the LectroFan provides the volume we want while also giving a ton of options for different sounds. The Dohms have been in our closet for a while now unused.
I agree. I have both and thought I would hate the Lectro Fan since it was not a real fan but now I only use the Dohm in my office. I love the different options on the Lectro Fan as well.

I had 2 of these Lectro fans, and they both began rattling within 6 months. The first one started rattling within 60 days so Amazon let me return it.

The google home mini is not as nice, but set the looping rain sounds to 30% volume and I swear you won't notice the quick fade-in/fade-out every hour. It helps me fall asleep every night.

It doesn't say it on the page from what I could find, and I don't know when you purchased yours, but these are definitely non-returnable to Amazon.

Source: Just tried to return one.

Mind sharing what command you use to make the track loop? Also, has it ever failed looping at night? My son (infant) relies heavily on white noise to sleep, he wakes up almost immediately once white noise stops...

I bought the Marpac Rohm Portable at full price and it was well worth it then. This $10 discount makes it even better. It took me a few nights to get used to the sound because I usually sleep with a fan and my body noticed the difference, but after those few nights I sleep just as well with either one. I use the Rohm whenever I'm not home, and it's WAY more convenient to travel with it vs a fan. Just be sure to keep it charged regularly. I've gotten a max of two nights (about 16 hours total) out of it on a single charge.

Don't think this device is relevant , now that we are in the age of smart speakers

Get yourself a google home mini & you can turn on white noise with voice command
I could also question the relevance of wristwatches, calculators, and compact cameras... yet, somehow they still exist and people still buy them.

However convenient the home mini may be, to the discerning ear nothing quite compares to the lecrofan or marpac devices.

Would this be useful to NOT hear the rain outside of my home? I have flooding issues and rain now causes me PTSD.

edit: Sorry for the double post.

Would these be useful to drown out actual rain? My house has very rare instances of flooding lately, and now rain causes me PTSD. Would love to be able to turn this on to sleep through heavy rainfall. Would it be helpful?

some need quiet to sleep, others need all the frequencies to sleep. So one turns on this device and put on the noise cancelling headphones and doze of? I would think a old TV tuned to a non broadcasting channel would do the same...

We have 3 Dohms and 2 Lectrofans in our house. Both are good, but we like the Lectrofans more - their max volume is outstanding. Great for the kids' naps!
