Appears this price at all the stores near me, but YMMV. Zip 16066 for reference.

Great deal if you're vested into this lineup. Keep in mind, this is for the tool only. Does NOT include the battery or charger.
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

10 available near me. I already have a 12 Incher
I just got the Dewalt 12", is there any benefit to having a smaller one? I got the 12" thinking it covers anything a miter is capable of.

How does this compare to the RYOBI 18-Volt ONE+ Cordless 7-1/4 in. Compound Miter Saw? Has anyone used both?

As long as you bought the Dewalt slider, really just size and mobility at that point.

This is a nice set that includes a 4Ah and 2Ah battery w/ charger for a good price, to go with this.

Assuming similar quality, smaller is better as long as it is big enough to handle what you need to cut. Smaller saws are much more portable, easier to store, and will have better accuracy.

it is recommended that a Kobalt 24-volt max 6.0 Ah Li-ion battery is used with this tool. The batteries and charger are sold separately.

battery run another $50 to $80. I'll pass.

If you have time before you need it I would just set up deal alerts on kobalt batteries. I'm sure they'll have a deal on chargers and batteries before Xmas

That's still better than the full size DeWALT/ Milwaukee options before you buy a battery.

Don't know if it exists, but you can just buy a battery adapter and use whatever you got.

Would this be good to build stairs with with? I was thinking this or the Ryobi. Which would be better?

Thank you for posting this!

For those that are concerned about the 6.0ah battery recommendation, there's an answer from the manufacturer in the Q&A section that indicates that any battery size will work fine:
Quote :
Hello Sarge! The 2Ah battery will definitely work in the miter saw! We only recommend the 6Ah battery, because of the extended run time you would receive in comparison to the 2Ah battery. Thank you for your question!
I received this same answer when I inquired about whether larger batteries would make any difference in the Kobalt impact wrench (the big one). They said the wrench had the same torque rating no matter what battery size was used.
