If you're a student, check your universities DreamSpark program. i got mine for $5 from there.
Personally I prefer Linux for development, but I do know I'm not in the majority anymore. And work provided a MacBook Pro as my daily driver, so I am slowly getting used to it.
I guess the point is just that calling this a "developer's edition" is not a whole lot more than marketing.

How come this beast of a processor doesn't come with a ddr4 ram, seems most other similar laptops are running ddr4 2666mhz ram.
