I think the naming is just because it comes with Ubuntu😁

I was skeptical of this, but according to SO's OS survey from three years ago [stackoverflow.com], 50% of developers (at least on SO, which is probably good representative sample) uses various versions of Windows. Wow.

Personally I prefer Linux for development, but I do know I'm not in the majority anymore. And work provided a MacBook Pro as my daily driver, so I am slowly getting used to it.

I guess the point is just that calling this a "developer's edition" is not a whole lot more than marketing. Smilie

This is seriously interesting.
How do I get window 10 for cheap?
How come this beast of a processor doesn't come with a ddr4 ram, seems most other similar laptops are running ddr4 2666mhz ram.

What constitutes a "Developer Edition"? It's odd that this would have DDR3 SDRAM and Intel UHD graphics when the 2-in-1 XPS 13 7390 has LPDDR4X and Intel Iris Plus graphics. Nice CPU, though, for the price and nice price overall.

I ended up pulling the trigger on this one. I've been watching these for awhile and the Amex offer, Dell Coupons, and cash back all stacking made this an absolutely killer deal. It's funny that you posted this at the exact same time I was looking at this late at night, thanks for saving me the extra cash!

Sorry, it just made me think of a blues song...

"No Windows is coming with my device
She left us alone, O no that ain't very nice
I got those Ubuntu blues..."
