Base price of $339.99. I think the largest downside is the screen at the base configuration. However, the screen resolution, RAM, storage, network card, & keyboard can be configurable/upgraded. As an example, I have my own configuration below with upgraded screen (FHD but I believe it's still a TN panel), increased to 16gb RAM, and backlit keyboard.

My thought is that the screen type/resolution brings this laptop price way down. Even with the upgraded screen resolution to 1920x1080 - it is still SVA . I have yet to confirm but I believe it's still a TN panel.

The "free" 16gb Optane memory upgrade takes the place of the NVMe slot and they provide a SATA SSD . I think I would rather have the NVMe SSD and add an additional SATA SSD in the future for more storage as opposed to having the Optane memory. Just my current thoughts but maybe you could convince me otherwise?

I'm an extreme multitasker but most people don't use their computer like me. Google chrome with 100+ tabs open, photoshop open, HD home run running, etc. In these instances the Intel H10 might be the better solution. If you're just doing one thing at a time the H10 Intel Optane SSD might not be the right solution.

ds more-is it the build quality of this particular HP? Seems WAY to good to be true to score a current gen i7 and 12GB of RAM for this price.
Edit: It's now gone FP so probably close to be dead dead deadaki. keeping hope alive I can find something with an i5 for $250-$350 despite knowing that's serious wishful thinking. Then again this deal popped up so 🤞🏾 lol
