I have over $1000 invested in Dewalt 20v tools. I'm not saying the light is bad, I actually own one. I'm saying that it is overpriced, especially as a bare tool.

This is essentially the same "sale" price repeated over and over again. Not really a great deal anyway IMO at $39 for a light with no battery or charger included.

If you don't have DeWalt obviously. If you do it's a great light

You have to think outside the box, this is the best price bare outside of eBay or used. Last time I used my amex $30 off $60 to grab 2 for $50

It doesn't really matter if $39 is the "best price outside of eBay or used," it is still overpriced IMO. The fact that this $39 "sale" price is essentially the actual selling price almost year round should tell you something.
You yourself needed to use an Amex promo to knock down the price to $25 for you to buy it, which is where the price point should actually be in the first place. That basically proves my point.

The selling price is surely not $39 all yr. It's only been under $55 on Amazon a handful of times in 5yrs previous untill recently.
I'm a true SD'er who recently switched to DeWalt, so just because I only buy at $25 each is far from the norm. People pay $55 or $69 at Lowe's every day of the yr

I don't know why you're beating a dead horse here. I expressed my opinion that this light is overpriced. You obviously disagree even though admittedly you did not buy any until they were $25. By all means, buy more at $39 since you think it's such a great deal. I will pass. Good luck.
This light is awesome for so many things. If you have DeWalt tools it's a no brainer. The hook works for about anything - trees, car hoods, etc. Super bright, I have tracked deer in pitch black nights and use it daily to check on animals around the farm. Would buy a second one but mine is still in mint condition.
"No brainer" is marketing language to encourage purchases without thought:From the article[fastcompany.com]: "How To Scientifically Make Buying Your Product A No-Brainer For Customers." "'Making decisions is a two-step process: The knee-jerk instinct and the rationalization. Hook your customers in the first step. .. You do not want your visitors to be in a rational mode while engaged in the purchasing process"
I bought this light last time it was posted here for $39.00 Hubby uses it for work, likes it a lot and asked for another. I've been watching it and it hovers between 49 and 45.99 and definitely not $39.00 all the time. It's a good, rugged light that is a decent price. Thanks OP.
After owning and repeatedly using this light for a couple months now, I'm so happy with it, I'd pay $99 for a replacement if it ever went out. Fortunately, with this deal popping up again, I'm getting a spare for even cheaper than when I first bought it. For me, personally, it IS a no-brainer.
